Michael Zolyan is a political analyst and historian specializing in ethnic conflict, nationalism and ethnicity as well as democratization and democracy in the post- Soviet context. Zolyan holds a doctoral degree in History from Yerevan State University and Master’s Degree in Nationalistic Studies at Budapest’s Central European University. Zolyan is currently an assistant at the UNESCO Chair of Democracy at Yerevan State Linguistic University after Brusov. He also collaborates with the Regional Research Center, as well as the Yerevan Press Club, one of the leading Armenian NGOs in the field of media advocacy and European integration. Zolyan has published numerous scientific articles and chapters in Armenia and abroad, including Armenian, as well as English, Russian and German. His analytical articles are frequently published in Armenian and international media about events in Armenia and the region.
